Calculate transfer time from size and link speed
Link speed is generally measured in bits per second; file size is measured in bytes. Multiply bytes by eight, then divide by bits per second.
A 10 GB file over a 100 Mbps link takes an ideal 800 seconds. At 90% efficiency, the effective rate is 90 Mbps and the estimate is about 889 seconds.
GB means one billion bytes; GiB means 2^30 bytes. Efficiency is your estimate for overhead and competing traffic. This tool does not independently simulate RTT, loss or storage performance.
